“If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse”

I saw this quote on the side of a bin in Amsterdam during a brief 3 day trip to visit a friend in August 2015. It means a lot to me. When you initially read it, it may come across as critical however I feel it’s about accepting that you will put energy into things you really care about and by the same logic will give less time to the things that you don’t think are worth your time. I learn from this quote. There is a farm local to my house that I have been meaning to volunteer at since last Tuesday. for some reason I haven’t made it there yet but I’ve had some great excuses. This provokes me to think about why I haven’t made it a priority and whether instead of worrying about not doing it, I should just accept that right now other things are more important to me.

“The planet does not need more successful people. The plant desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers and storytellers and lovers of all kinds”

While completing a WorkAway project with an inspirational Maltese friend I came across this quote on his laptop background. I read this at a time where I was meant to be beginning the fast track teaching graduate scheme Teach First. I understood I was doing this grad scheme in order to be successful. After all a graduate leaves university and gets a graduate job, right? I now understand success in a different way. I feel success can only be be quantified by the fulfillment of each individual’s life’s purpose. I decided on that day I would shed the pressure I had taken onto my shoulders to be traditionally “successful” and instead do the things that I have passion for and will make me happy, and therefore be truly successful.

“I overthink therefore I am”

Okay, this one was text to me by a very good friend from University. I just like it.

“Everything I need comes from a seed”

Thats mine. It was my favourite vegan realisation! Everything I consume starts off as a beautiful little seed and is made of sunshine, water, the earth and love and you know, we are what we eat!
